Overview of CBSE Group A, B & C Recruitment 2025

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Recruitment 2025 for various teaching and non‑teaching posts under Groups A, B and C. This recruitment drive aims to fill over 2,500 positions across the country.

Understanding the Three Groups

  • Group A: Senior-level posts such as Principals, Vice‑Principals and senior faculty. Requires minimum 5‑years of post‑qualification experience.
  • Group B: Mid‑level positions including Lecturers, Senior Coordinators and Laboratory Supervisors. Typically requires 2‑4 years of experience.
  • Group C: Entry‑level roles like Assistant Teachers, Office Assistants and Support Staff. Fresh graduates are eligible.

Tier‑II Exam Structure

Candidates who clear the Tier‑I objective test are eligible for the Tier‑II descriptive examination. This stage focuses on detailed knowledge, essay writing and subject‑specific problems. It carries a weightage of 60% in the final merit list.

City‑Wise Exam Centers for Tier‑II

The board has released a comprehensive list of examination cities. Candidates can select their preferred centers during the online application. Major hubs include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur and Lucknow. Each center accommodates a specific number of candidates to maintain social distancing norms.

  • Delhi – 1,200 slots
  • Mumbai – 800 slots
  • Chennai – 650 slots
  • Kolkata – 550 slots
  • Bengaluru – 500 slots
  • Hyderabad – 450 slots
  • Pune – 400 slots
  • Jaipur – 300 slots
  • Lucknow – 350 slots

Applicants must verify the exact address and reporting time on their admit card. It is advisable to reach the center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start.

  • Tier‑II exam: 20 April 2025

Master’s Degree of a Recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the Bachelor Degree Level. OR Master’s Degree of a Recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the Bachelor Degree Level. OR Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the Bachelor Degree Level.
